Walking the '99k for Canine'

Me and Bingo are kicking the year off by joining the Dogs Trust 99k for Canines challenge. I will be walking 99km throughout the month of February to raise money for all the dogs in their care.

The aim of Dogs Trust is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. With your help Dogs Trust hope to continue helping more dogs as the need for their services increases with the current cost of living crisis.

Day 28 - 99kms completed!

We’ve officially completed our 99ks for this month. It’s been great to get involved and thanks to everyone who donated!

Day 26 & 27 - 97.6/99km

Day 24 & 25 - 88.4/99kms

Day 24 - 1.7km
Day 25 - 6kms. Nice walk around Carsington water, weather was fantastic! So pleased to get out in it!

So close to the end of this challenge now!

Just a head of where we need to be.

Short day today, 1.7kms done.

Day 15 - 53.2/99kms

3.2kms today! Quite rainy today but still got out.

Day 14 - 50/99km

Happy Valentine’s Day! 1.7kms done today, rounds us up to 50kms and we’re half way through the month! 49km to go. 

Day 13 - 47.3/99kms

Another 4.2kms today which was good. Very cold today.

Day 12 - 43.1/99kms

Another 3.3kms added today! Weather was wet again. 

Day 11 - 39.8/99km

5kms today in the drizzle. Very close to 40kms and almost half way through the goal of 99kms. 

Day 10 - 34.8/99kms

Only a short walk today (1.9kms). It was very cold and wet today but got it done!

Day 9 - 32.9/99kms

4kms in the cold, windy and slightly wet weather but still moving :)

Day 8 - 28.9/99kms

3.7kms today, even in the drizzle we still had a good time. Almost into the 60s. Bingo is doing really well and I think she’s enjoying it. 

Day 7 - 25.2/99km

Very short day today- only 1.4kms. Still progress and still on track! 

Day 6 - 23.8/99km

Another 3.8km again today! Still enjoying getting out each day. Really pleased to be raising some money- too even if it’s not a lot. 75.2km to go 🐾

Day 5 - 20/99kms

Shorter day of only 2.9kms today, bit of an active rest day. Glad to still be a head of the needed kms. Another good weather day too, very lucky! Almost a quarter of the way through!

Day 4 - 17.1/99km

Another day a head of the minimum daily kilometre requirement! Still going well. Hoping tomorrow we’ll have a shorter day.

Day 3 - 12.8/99kms

Managed to do 3.5kms today, bit of a shorter day but still on track!

Day 2 - 9.3/99kms

Walked 4.7kms today! We went to Dove dale where we climbed Thorpe Cloud, went down again and walked to Ilam for a rest and a drink. Great weather for it today!

Day 1 - 4.6/99kms

Today we completed the first 4.6kms of the challenge, mostly through the countryside and along footpaths. Looking forward to the next 94.4kms
