Frequently asked questions
How do I get my 99k for Canines bandana?
When you sign up for the challenge by completing our form we will send you your bandana as requested on the form!
If you do not receive your bandana within 10 days of completing your form please get in touch with us as 99kForCanines@dogstrust.org.uk.
Do I have to walk 99k all at once?
No, you can spread your 99km of walking throughout the challenge month! It averages at just over 3km a day. If you want to exceed 99km, go for it.
Do I have to have a dog to take part?
No! Both dog owners & non-dog owners are welcome.
How do I keep track of how many kms I have walked?
The best way is to use your smart phone. If you have an iPhone or Samsung there will be a preinstalled ‘Health’ App that tracks your daily steps and distance walked. Other apps you can use are: Strava, Runkeeper, Map My Walk and others. If not, you can always have a look on a map (digital or printed) to calculate your distances. We will also send you a paper km tracker in your pack so you can tot up your daily kms.
You can manually add your KMs to your Dogs Trust fundraising page to keep the tally of your distance for your sponsors to see.
Follow these steps to manually add your activity:
1. Log in to your account and select My Fitness Activity.
2. Under Add activity, enter the required fields (KMs).
3. The logged activity will now appear on your fundraising page!
Do I have to pay a registration fee?
No, this event is free to take part in.
Do I need to raise a minimum amount?
There is no set fundraising target for this challenge. However, we encourage you to do your best to raise £99 or more to contribute to the work of Dogs Trust
