I’m taking part in the 99k for Canines with Dogs Trust this February!
I’m making a positive start to 2025 by joining the Dogs Trust 99k for Canines challenge! I will be walking 99km throughout the month of February to raise money for all the dogs in their care.
I lost my dog of 15 years, Ebony, on 16th December 2024. Ebony had watch me grow up from the age of 12 all the way to 27, meaning she saw me through some major hardships and milestones. In light of her passing, I want to do more to help dogs in need and Ebony was part of a breed that is typically mistreated and misunderstood (Staffordshire Bull Terrier), that I'm sure Dogs Trust are no stranger to seeing in their rescues.
The aim of Dogs Trust is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. In 2023, they were able to successfully rehome over 9,000 dogs and cared for a total of 11,464 dogs (including those through their Ukraine quarantine scheme as well as police dogs working at the Commonwealth Games!). With your help Dogs Trust hope to continue helping more dogs in 2025 as the need for their services increases with the current cost of living crisis.
