I’m taking part in the 99k for Canines with Dogs Trust this February!

I’m joining the Dogs Trust 99k for Canines challenge this February! I’ll be walking 99km throughout the month of February to raise money for all the dogs in their care.

The aim of Dogs Trust is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. In 2023, they were able to successfully rehome over 9,000 dogs and cared for a total of 11,464 dogs (including those through their Ukraine quarantine scheme as well as police dogs working at the Commonwealth Games!). With your help Dogs Trust hope to continue helping more dogs in 2025 as the need for their services increases with the current cost of living crisis.

We started a couple of days early, and went to the woods yesterday for the first time! Bramble loved tromping through the bog, much to my dismay and we did 2.1km in there. We finished the day with another 2km walk on our usual route. 96km to go!

Bramble has worked his way up to 30 mins of exercise three times a day and his leg doesn’t seem to bother him at all, so doing the whole challenge with him rather than carrying him looks doable by February! He LOVES going anywhere new so I’m planning a lot of new walks for us to go on together and I’ll keep you all updated throughout Feb with the distances and places we’ve been :)
