Walking 99k with Chewie to raise money for Dogs Trust!

This February, I am tackling the Dogs Trust 99k for Canines challenge! Chewie and I will be walking 99km together over the course of February to raise money for all the dogs in their care.

This is the second event on my journey to raise £1500 for charity in 2025. If you want to help me reach my goal (or just want to support the dogs!), please donate and share.

The aim of Dogs Trust is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. In 2023, they were able to successfully rehome over 9,000 dogs and cared for a total of 11,464 dogs. With your help Dogs Trust hope to continue helping more dogs in 2025 as the need for their services increases with the current cost of living crisis.

Lovely walk round Dalkieth Country Park

Walk 16 - 2km

Walk 15 - 7km

If you saw the weather in Edinburgh on Friday you would know we were crazy for walking 7km in it!! Luckily we had a nice lift at the end to warm us up.

Walk 14 - 11km

Biiiiiig walk today. Safe to say Chewie will be sleeping this afternoon. I unfortunatelt have placement this afternoon otherwise I'd be napping with him!

Walk 13 - 4km

Walk 12 - 3km

Who knew being a full time uni student with a lazy dog would make this challenge so hard. We've got some time for big walks later this week so we can do this!!

Walk 11 - 3km

Walk 10 - 4km

Chewie's worst nightmare - being woken up at 7:30 for a 4km walk!! Of all my crimes this month, this will be the one he can't forgive me for.

Walk 9 - 3km

Despite being incredibly hungover, we managed to squeeze a 3k in before bed. Gotta pick up the pace, only 2 weeks left in Feb!

Walk 8 - 3km

It's been interesting seeing how long our regular walks actually are. I could've sworn our canal walk was much longer but we had to do a loop in a park just to reach 3k!! It must just seem longer as Chewie has to stop and say hi to every single dog we see on the canal.

Walk 7 - 4km

Little walk around some dog friendly cafes today to see if any will let us set up a small fundraising table. Poor Chewie thought he was getting a pup cup in all of them but didn't get any!!! He's so hard done to.

Walk 6 - 2km

Managed to squeeze in a quick walk on this busy Sunday.

Walk 5 - 9k

Longest walk yet with a nice little pit stop for lunch.

Walk 4 - 5km

20/99km; using my week off uni to get us off to a strong start!

Walk 3 - 4km

4km walk in the pouring rain. Both of us are ready for a nap next to the fire now.

Walk 2 - 5km

Very dreich day so we're both soaked through but gorgeous views made it worth it!

Walk 1 - 6km

6km done, 93 more to go
