I’m taking part in the 99k for Canines with Dogs Trust this February!

I’m making a positive start to 2025 by joining the Dogs Trust 99k for Canines challenge! Poppy and I will be walking 99km throughout the month of February to raise money for all the dogs in their care.

The aim of Dogs Trust is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. In 2023, they were able to successfully rehome over 9,000 dogs and cared for a total of 11,464 dogs (including those through their Ukraine quarantine scheme as well as police dogs working at the Commonwealth Games!). With your help Dogs Trust hope to continue helping more dogs in 2025 as the need for their services increases with the current cost of living crisis.

What a walk-filled few weeks it's been!

We started strong, but an unfortunate cold has meant our last week of walks have been pretty short (at least for me!) Thankfully, I'm now finally done with the cough syrup, and excited to get back to longer walks once again!

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to us so far, we're absolutely thrilled to have hit £283! Did you know £100 is enough to support all a dog's needs in their first week of care with Dog's Trust? With this in mind, we'd love it if we could raise this figure *just a bit more* and hit £300 before the end of the month. If you're able to support us, please consider sending a few pounds our way!

Happy February everyone! A huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far! We've only just begun but we've already smashed our original £99 goal, reaching a whopping (and very visually satisfying) £222!

Poppy and I have now completed our first day of the challenge, with 4.85km walked. With the weather looking lovely for the week ahead, we're super excited for the month of walks ahead of us.

We'll be continuing to share our progress as we go. If you're able to, please consider help us surpass our goal even further, and help Dogs Trust find even more dogs their forever home!

Bandana received! We're ready to go!

Poppy's bandana arrived last weekend, meaning we're now fully ready to go once February arrives!

I've never done a charity challenge before, but it's thanks to Dogs Trust that Poppy came into our lives. 3.5 years since we brought her home, I can't imagine life without her. Squeaky toy in hand, she'll invite herself to my meetings, she's covered the house in fur, and occasionally she'll rearrange our furniture for no apparent reason save a complete lack of spatial awareness. She's a bundle of chaos, and I love her to bits.

My constant companion, I'm so grateful to Dogs Trust for trusting us with her care, and I'm excited to turn our daily adventures into a means of giving back to such a great charity.
