I’m taking part in the 99k for Canines with Dogs Trust this February!

As all who know me know, I am passionate about advocating for animal welfare. 

Since losing my darling Ponyo at just 1 year old, in a horrific and completely avoidable incident whilst not in my care, my urge to support dogs in need has felt more intense. I am desperate to do whatever I can to stop the suffering of dogs and help them live happy, fulfilled lives full of love. 

The aim of Dogs Trust is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. In 2023, they were able to successfully rehome over 9,000 dogs and cared for a total of 11,464 dogs.

Ponyo and her sister Daphne were rescues, and the light and love they brought into our lives is indescribable. I think often of what their lives might have been like had their mum not been rescued. Whilst Ponyo was heartbreakingly taken from us so soon and in such a traumatic way, she and Daphne received all the love in the world, and that's only possible thanks to rescues like Dogs Trust.
