I'm running the Hackney Half for Dogs Trust!
I’m dedicating my miles to the Greyhounds - dogs that are so often run for sport. This time, I’m the one hitting the track to help find them the retirement they deserve: a warm sofa and a loving home.
I got back in to running at the start of the year and have wanted to challenge myself to something big... so when the opportunity came up to run for Dogs Trust it was a no brainer.
If you know me, you know a very special some(thing) came in to my life in June 2020. Living alone in the middle of lockdown, I finally had the work life balance to bring a dog in to my life. I adopted Betty and my whole world changed! She has been my sidekick through some of the best and most tough times over the pat 5 years. So many dogs like Betty deserve a loving home and a second chance.
The aim of Dogs Trust is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. In 2023, they were able to successfully rehome over 10,000 dogs and cared for a total of 13,375 dogs (including over 300 Underdogs who had been with Dogs Trust for more than 6 months). With your help, Dogs Trust can continue helping more dogs in 2024 as the need for their services increases with the current cost of living crisis.
The work of Dogs Trust is only possible with support like yours, if you’re able to make a small contribution, I know they’d be extremely grateful – and so would the dogs!
