Great North Run 2026

I’m taking part in the Great North Run with Dogs Trust!

I’m helping raise money for dogs in need by joining the Great North Run with Dogs Trust.

My little Malic was rescued into our family from The Dogs Trust in Darlington - and he couldn't have come along at a better time bringing people together and much love where we needed.

Whilst going through the process of adoption, we got to see first hand how much hard work and dedication the staff and volunteers put into making sure these precious dogs are well cared for, trained and rehomed into their safe, forever home.

Last year alone, Dogs Trust cared for 11,707 dogs across the UK and Ireland, rehomed 9,914 dogs, and helped deliver nearly one million meals to dogs in need through Fareshare foodbanks, so any donation really makes a huge difference to keep things going for these little fur babies.

Malic has brought joy to so many of us in my family, and I know there's many other dogs waiting to be able to love their own little family too. These dogs can't care for themselves, and we all need a little companion at times. If you can spare anything for donation, please do - it really goes a long way, and I'm sure those beautiful four legged friends will thank us dearly.

Thank you Xx 🐕

My Updates

February update - 7 months to go

Time is going so quickly and I keep missing my monthly post 🙈

Since November, I have continued running and entering into races, which I am slowly getting better at. As im sure you are all aware, it's been so dark and damp in the UK the past few months so it has been a challenge to get out, but I have joined a run club to keep me going and motivated during these times.

My little Malic has continued to keep me company during as many runs as he can, he's loving meeting new people and running new routes.

I now have quite the collection of running medals and looking forward to the GNR medal 🏅

Thank you for visiting my page and if you are able to donate, thank you so much, any donation is hugely appreciated 🐕🤎

November update - 10 months to go

In November I took part in two 10k races! I completed the Tommy 10k in Seaham the beginning of the month, and then ended the month at the Sunderland 10k.

I have signed myself up for more, and will be running in my third 10k race in a few weeks 🥰

These 10k races, although challenging they are very fun and are keeping me motivated to train for the big race next year.

Thank you again for your donations, this really does help The Dogs Trust help care for the dogs who are yet to find their home 💛

Time to get training - 11 months to go!

Ive been running for the past 4 months or so by taking part in park run every Saturday with my best friend and joining an amazing local run club.

The dogs trust has a very special place in my heart as they cared for my little Malic until we were able to rescue him. Malic has been joining me and helping me train, although he is barely doing a brisk walk, I am fighting for my life 🤣 but he's fantastic company either way.

I will keep this page updated with my progress, this will be a really big challenge to me but I am absolutely up for it!

Thank you xx
