I’m taking part in the Great North Run with Dogs Trust!

I’m helping raise money for dogs in need by joining the Great North Run with Dogs Trust.

The aim of Dogs Trust is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. In 2023, they were able to successfully rehome over 10,000 dogs and cared for a total of 13,375 dogs (including over 300 Underdogs who had been with Dogs Trust for more than 6 months). With your help, Dogs Trust can continue helping more dogs in 2024 as the need for their services increases with the current cost of living crisis.  

The work of Dogs Trust is only possible with support like yours, if you’re able to make a small contribution, I know they’d be extremely grateful – and so would the dogs!

Introduction

Last evening, I laced up my trainers and headed out to Whitley Bay’s iconic seafront. The sun was dipping low, casting a warm glow across the water. I set my sights on the promenade, eager for that perfect blend of fresh sea breeze and rhythmic footfall along the tarmac. This run wasn’t just about miles—it was about soaking in every coastal moment.

Setting the Scene

The promenade stretches nearly three miles from Spanish City to St. Mary’s Island, framed by sandy beaches and rolling dunes. A gentle headwind off the North Sea teased my hair and cooled my skin as I warmed up. Seagulls wheeled overhead, their calls punctuating the distant sound of laughter from evening strollers. Streetlights flickered on, dotting the path with golden pools of light.
