Walking 99km this February for Dogs Trust — for rescue dogs, second chances, and my own journey back to an active life
I’m making a positive start to 2026 by taking part in the Dogs Trust 99k for Canines challenge, walking 99km throughout February to raise vital funds for dogs in need.
I’m doing this challenge partly because I’m a huge supporter of Dogs Trust and the incredible work they do, but also as a very personal milestone for me. Over the past few years, anxiety left me largely homebound and disconnected from an active life. Taking on this challenge feels like an important step forward — both physically and mentally.
A huge part of my recovery has been Barry, our rescue dog, who joined our family last year. Barry has helped me rebuild confidence, routine, and joy in getting out into the world again. Knowing he was given a second chance makes supporting a charity that does the same for thousands of dogs feel especially meaningful.
Dogs Trust exists to give stray and abandoned dogs a brighter future with loving, responsible owners. Last year alone, they cared for 11,707 dogs across the UK and Ireland, rehomed 9,914 dogs, and helped provide nearly one million meals to dogs in need through Fareshare foodbanks.
With the ongoing cost of living crisis placing extra pressure on dog owners, the work Dogs Trust does has never been more important — and it’s only possible thanks to the generosity of supporters.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, you’ll be helping dogs like Barry get the second chance they deserve. Thank you so much for supporting me, and for supporting Dogs Trust 🐾

So proud of you love mum and dad xx ❤
