I’m taking part in the 99k for Canines challenge with Dogs Trust!

I’m making a positive start to 2026 by joining the Dogs Trust 99k for Canines challenge! I will be walking 99km throughout the month of February to raise vital funds for the dogs in their care.

The aim of Dogs Trust is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners.

Last year, they cared for 11,707 dogs across the UK and Ireland, rehomed 9,914 dogs, and helped deliver nearly one million meals to dogs in need through Fareshare foodbanks.

Your support helps them continue this vital work, especially as the cost of living crisis adds increased pressures for dog owners. The work of Dogs Trust is only possible with donations like yours. If you’re able to make a small contribution, I know they’d be incredibly grateful – and so would the dogs!

Thank you.

Winchcombe- BooBoo’s Place

Final Walk for 99k- BooBoo’s Place

For my last walk for the 99k challenge today I went to Winchcombe in Gloucestershire to my beautiful girl Billies (BooBoo) favourite field. She loved it there and spent hours running and snuffling and meeting friends. It was a poignant and fitting way to finish the last walk. She’s always in my heart and my thoughts ♥️

I’m so happy to have completed the challenge and raised some funds for Dogs Trust. I am forever in awe of the amazing work they do and the sheer dedication of all the staff and volunteers who do so much every day to make happy memories for the dogs in their care. A big shout out to the team at Evesham Dogs Trust where I volunteer, they are amazing 🐾

And of course massive thanks to everyone who sponsored me and donated to Dogs Trust- thank you all so much. Every penny you donated makes a difference to the dogs and I know if they could thank you themselves they would 🐶

So until the next challenge then 🐾

Thank you again for making the challenge special for every dog your donations will help and for me, it means a lot ♥️🐾♥️

99km Done! 🎉

So yesterday evening I completed the last two kilometres to reach 99! The walk was along the Nottingham Canal and in keeping with what seems to have been a feature of my weekend walks I took a picture of these Geese 😃 I completed the 99km alongside my son Jake and his girlfriend Hannah which was a wonderful way to reach the 99km. I’m so proud of myself for completing the challenge and every step of the 99km brought to mind all the dogs that I have worked with while volunteering at Dogs Trust, the beautiful dogs that I have had the privilege of having in my life but sadly lost, those dogs that have been in my life through family and friends now sadly gone and most poignantly my little girl Billie who I miss every day 🐾 I also have to say a massive thank you to all my supporters who have encouraged me to do the challenge and who have generously donated and I’m really proud of the amount they have raised for Dogs at Dogs Trust 🐶 I know every penny will help them to continue the amazing work with dogs who have lost their place in the world, not just to rehome them, but to provide training, medical support, emotional support and most important of all a safe place to be and be loved while they wait for their humans to find them. Dogs Trust is an amazing place and I’m proud to be a small part of the amazing work they do. I will continue the challenge for the remaining days of February and post my progress here. Thank you again to everyone who has supported this challenge from me and all the dogs at Dogs Trust 🐾❤️🐾

Pittville Park Cheltenham

Pittville Park Cheltenham

Today was a lovely day, sun and no rain for what seems like forever!

So today I went for a walk around Cheltenham and several laps around Pittville Park. It was fabulous to see so many dogs of every shape and colour whose sheer joy at being out and about spurred me on my walk.

Pittville Park was a favourite walk for my beautiful girl Billie and I know she will have walked beside me today 🐾

Swans seem to be a feature of my weekend walks too and so I felt obliged to take a pic!

Day 14 of the challenge and I’ve reached my fundraising goal thanks to my wonderful supporters- thank you 🙏 And I hope now to smash through it if there are some more lovely people who will sponsor me 😊

I’ve also passed the halfway mark of the 99k which is also fantastic and a big achievement for me personally.

Thank you for reading and supporting me and most especially Dogs Trust ❤️

Attenborough Nature Reserve Nottingham

Saturday took me to Nottingham to see my son Jake and his girlfriend Hannah and we went for a walk to this reserve.

It’s a beautiful place and as it’s so close to Valentine’s Day I thought this pic of two swans was sweet ❤️

First Week Done!

So, we are just over a week into February and I’m pleased with how I’ve started!

It’s been difficult to motivate myself to go on walks alone without a dog to take those steps with me but for Dogs Trust I know I will compete the challenge 🐾 The difference that donations make to dogs in need of a human helping hand is immeasurable but palpable.

If you are reading this please donate if you can, your help will make a difference I promise.

Thank you xxx
