Cardiff Half Marathon 2025

I’m taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon with Dogs Trust!

I have never been into sports or fitness in my whole life, but after losing my rescue dog Keith very suddenly and tragically in 2023, I needed something to occupy my mind and body. I started running, something I always thought I hated, and have found that it brings me peace and keeps me balanced. Taking on this Half Marathon will be a new challenge for me and raising money for Dogs Trust helps me to remember Keith and our bond that we shared. He had such a big impact on my life whilst he was here, and continues to now even though he has travelled over the rainbow bridge.

I’m helping raise money for dogs in need by joining the 2025 Cardiff Half Marathon with Dogs Trust.

The aim of Dogs Trust is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. In 2023, they were able to successfully rehome over 10,000 dogs and cared for a total of 13,375 dogs (including over 300 Underdogs who had been with Dogs Trust for more than 6 months). With your help, Dogs Trust can continue helping more dogs as the need for their services increases with the current cost of living crisis.

The work of Dogs Trust is only possible with support like yours, if you’re able to make a small contribution, I know they’d be extremely grateful – and so would the dogs!

Thank you.

Thank you!

Dear all,

I just wanted to thank you all so much for your generous donations to the Dogs Trust and for supporting me in running the Cardiff Half.

I completed it on Sunday, despite having covid the week before and it really knocking me back. It was a real challenge after being unwell, I had trained for a time of 2 hours 15 minutes and until covid hit me, I was on track for that time. Unfortunately I only managed 2 hours 33 minutes, but I am super proud of myself for showing up and completing it!

I managed to raise a total of £323, and in total Dogs Trust runners raised over £16,000!  You should all give yourselves a big pat on the back for donating to such a good cause, thank you all  🐾🐕🐶🐕‍🦺🥰
