Running a Half Marathon to Help Support Dogs Trust
I have always loved dogs, but growing up in a country where stray and abandoned dogs suffer daily cruelty has left a lasting impact on me. Even in the UK, dogs are still abandoned and mistreated, and they cannot ask for help or change their fate. That’s why I’m running a half marathon to support Dogs Trust, a charity dedicated to rescuing, caring for, and rehoming dogs in need. Every donation, no matter how small, helps provide these incredible animals with the love and safety they deserve.

Running for those without a voice
Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Their unconditional love, loyalty, and pure hearts are unmatched, and yet, so many of them suffer at the hands of humans. I grew up in a country where stray and abandoned dogs filled the streets, left to fend for themselves in a world that often met them with cruelty rather than kindness. I witnessed horrific cases of neglect—dogs beaten, starved, mutilated, and discarded as if they were nothing. These sights have haunted me ever since, leaving scars on my heart that will never fade.
Even now, when I travel to places where dogs suffer the same fate, I feel the trauma all over again. It breaks me to know that these loving creatures, who ask for nothing but love and care, are treated with such indifference and brutality. Sadly, while the UK is seen as a nation of animal lovers, the reality is that abandonment and cruelty exist here too. Every day, dogs are left behind—unwanted, unloved, and in desperate need of help.
That’s why I’ve decided to take action. I am running a half marathon to raise funds for Dogs Trust, a charity that works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abandoned and mistreated dogs. They provide these animals with a second chance—a chance to find warmth, safety, and the love they deserve. But they can’t do it alone.
Unlike us, animals cannot ask for help. They have no voice, no choice. Their fate rests in our hands. It is up to us to make a difference in their lives.
