This October, I'm challenging myself to run 100 miles for Dogs Trust.

Here's the honest bit: I'm not a runner (and recently learnt how far 100 miles actually is…). I've told myself for years I'd "get into running”, but it never stuck — I just never found the enjoyment in it. So 100 miles is going to be a real stretch for me, physically and mentally…BUT (if you know me, you'll probably have guessed), the reason I am doing this is for one reason only: dogs. There's no better motivation I can think of than knowing every mile is doing something for dogs who need it.

Dogs Trust exists to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. Last year alone, they cared for 11,707 dogs across the UK and Ireland, rehomed 9,914 of them, and helped deliver nearly one million meals to dogs in need through Fareshare foodbanks.

That kind of impact only happens because people donate — especially now, with the cost of living crisis putting extra pressure on dog owners and rescues alike.

So if you're able to chip in, even a small amount, it would mean a lot — to me, and even more to the dogs. I'll be thinking of that on mile 87 when I am definitely questioning my life choices.

Thank you for helping me get there 🐾

(Ps. Due to a work commitment meaning I am out of action for 1-5 October, I will be starting in the final week of September to account for the missing days!)
