Max Parker - London Marathon with Dogs Trust!
I’m officially running the 2026 London Marathon for Dogs Trust. Yes, voluntarily. Yes, 26.2 miles. No, I’m not entirely sure how this happened.
I’m aiming for a sub-3 hour 30 minute marathon, which means months of early mornings, questionable life choices, and a lot of “just one more mile” pep talks (if only I had four legs). But every step is for Dogs Trust, and for animals I love so much.
Dogs Trust exists to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at the good life: warm beds, full bowls, and humans who never leave them on read. In 2023 alone, they rehomed over 10,000 dogs and cared for 13,375 dogs across 22 rehoming centres in the UK and Ireland. That’s a lot of muddy paws, hopeful eyes, and second chances.
Right now, with the cost of living crisis squeezing everyone, Dogs Trust is seeing more dogs needing help than ever. And the truth is, none of this incredible work happens without donations. Every contribution helps fund care, shelter, medical treatment, and the journey from “lost” to “home”.
So if you’re able to donate, even a small amount, you’ll be doing something genuinely brilliant. You’ll be helping dogs find safety, stability, and a future… and you’ll also be emotionally sponsoring my legs for 26.2 miles, which feels only fair.
