I’m taking part in the 99k for Canines with Dogs Trust this February!

I’m making a positive start to 2024 by joining the Dogs Trust 99k for Canines challenge! I will be walking 99km throughout the month of February to raise money for all the dogs in their care.

The aim of Dogs Trust is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. In 2022, they were able to successfully rehome over 9,000 dogs and cared for a total of 11,464 dogs (including those through their Ukraine quarantine scheme as well as police dogs working at the Commonwealth Games!). With your help Dogs Trust hope to continue helping more dogs in 2024 as the need for their services increases with the current cost of living crisis.

Walking 99k for Dogs Trust 🐾

Tuesday 23rd Jan
In the month of February I will be walking 99km for Dogs trust.

Dogs Trust has a special place in my heart. When we lost a beloved family member (my Uncle) in February 2021 we were all heartbroken.
Unfortunately left behind was his very loved Japanese Akita called Kumar who was roughly 10yr old, who understandably, people that know dogs will know that he was also heartbroken.
As a family, we all pulled together and we cared for him the best we could but due to us all either having our own pets or other commitments we found it difficult. We didn’t want to advertise him and risk him getting in the wrong hands.
Dog Trust was our last hope, we knew Kumar would get all the attention, love and care that he needs and we also knew Dogs Trust would find a suitable home for him to spend his last days.
Dogs Trust Leeds certainly did that and more!!

Dogs Trust gave us peace of mind as a family, especially when we were going through a tough time coming to terms with our loss.

Dogs Trust Leeds will always be a special place for me, I can’t Thank them enough for all they did for us.

Now it’s my turn to return the favour and try and raise as much money I can to help other dogs and families in similar situations.
I don’t know what we would have done without you Dogs Trust Leeds!!
