Rose & Crown Romaldkirk

Dogs Trust Fundraiser

The Durham Dales’ first Sniffari: Rose & Crown, Romaldkirk launches a dog-led countryside adventure in support of Dogs Trust

This Autumn, the Rose & Crown at Romaldkirk is inviting dogs and their humans to slow down, follow their noses and enjoy a countryside adventure designed for curious noses.

Our Sniffari is a dedicated dog-friendly walking route designed to make the most of the sights, sounds and, most importantly, smells of the Durham Dales. With varied terrain and plenty of opportunities to stop, sniff and explore along the way, it’s a walk where four-legged companions are encouraged to set the pace.

As part of the launch, a dog behaviourist will also share expert insight into the benefits of sniffing for dogs, including why giving them plenty of time to stop, explore and follow their noses can support their wellbeing.

And every Sniffari can help dogs beyond the trail, too.

We’re raising money for Dogs Trust, helping support its work caring for dogs and helping them find loving homes. If you and your dog complete the Sniffari, we’d love you to consider making a donation to mark the occasion. We suggest £3 per completed walk, although every donation, whatever the amount, will make a difference.

Whether you’re staying with us at the Rose & Crown, live locally or simply fancy discovering a new walk with your dog, everyone is welcome to take part.

So grab the lead, bring a few treats, don’t forget your walking boots and prepare to let your dog’s nose do the navigating.
