I’m taking part in the 99k for Canines with Dogs Trust this February!

I’m making a positive start to 2024 by joining the Dogs Trust 99k for Canines challenge! I will be walking 99km throughout the month of February to raise money for all the dogs in their care.

The aim of Dogs Trust is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. In 2022, they were able to successfully rehome over 9,000 dogs and cared for a total of 11,464 dogs (including those through their Ukraine quarantine scheme as well as police dogs working at the Commonwealth Games!). With your help Dogs Trust hope to continue helping more dogs in 2024 as the need for their services increases with the current cost of living crisis.

me, George and Jake

Wednesday 7th Feb
Well we've made a reasonable start, the 3 of us.  Jake managed a couple of kms over the weekend while me n George have managed an about 5km daily apart from Monday when both me and Jake were needing a rest day due to  our arthritis!  Today though Jake was full of beans after 2 rest days and joined me n George on a walk up to Witham Park Nature Reserve, his favourite place apart from the beach!  He thought the sniffs there were awesome and it took quite a long time to get around the park!  The walk back was slow but he met some friends and he is reckons it was worth it!  Extra painkillers tonight I think but he looks comfortable on his bed for now.
