I’m taking part in the 99k for Canines challenge with Dogs Trust!

I’m making a positive start to 2026 by joining the Dogs Trust 99k for Canines challenge! I will be walking 99km throughout the month of February to raise vital funds for the dogs in their care.

The aim of Dogs Trust is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners.

Last year, they cared for 11,707 dogs across the UK and Ireland, rehomed 9,914 dogs, and helped deliver nearly one million meals to dogs in need through Fareshare foodbanks.

Your support helps them continue this vital work, especially as the cost of living crisis adds increased pressures for dog owners. The work of Dogs Trust is only possible with donations like yours. If you’re able to make a small contribution, I know they’d be incredibly grateful – and so would the dogs!

Thank you.

Handsome boy with his Dogs Trust bandana on😍

Just me and my boy doing a 10K walk🥰

5K - 10/02/2026

Correction on my last post, I forgot what the date was🤣 Yesterday was the 9th!

Today (10/02/26) Mani and I walked 5K after dinner! Another wet walk, thanks to good old sunny Scotland🤣 Mani has been doing well with his on leash training, still pulling a little bit but not as bad, sitting at roads when I command him to and tonight he also done well with not pulling to get to other dogs as much! Although he failed once but it’s still progress!

12K walk 10/02/26!

Yesterday myself and Mani went on a 12K walk! We walked 7K in the afternoon through the woods and past a farm where we seen chickens and goats, Mani also tried chasing a rabbit which ran across the path, good thing he was on the lead!

After dinner, we went a 5K walk to walk off the calories from dinner! During both walks, it was raining on and off but that didn’t stop us!

A 6K walk with a view😍

Mani having a good sniff!

5K - 04/02/26

Today Mani and I went a walk around our village, it was unfortunately raining today but that didn’t stop us getting steps in! Mani had lots to smell on this walk even though he has walked around this village many times.

Mani didn’t do so well on his training today as he was pulling and also pulling to get near other dogs to play with them. Only win that we had on this walk was that Mani was doing well on sitting at the curb before crossing when I told him the command.

23K out of 99K done💪🏻

A wet day at the beach!

Almost at our destination!

First stop to give Mani a drink of water!

18K on 01/02/2026

First walk of February, Mani and I walked 18K towards our goal of 99K! Our walk consisted of walking through three villages, next to main roads, through a wooded area and up a coastal path. Mani had so much fun smelling all the different smells and meeting new friends.

During our walk, we worked on Mani’s on lead training. This training consisted of listening to commands to stop and sit at roads before crossing, not jumping or acknowledging strangers and working on his over excitement when meeting other dogs.

We were glad to arrive home after a long 4 hour walk with sore legs and sore feet (paws in Mani’s case). At the time of this writing, Mani is currently asleep while I am relaxing in bed.
