I’m taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon with Dogs Trust!
I’m helping raise money for dogs in need by joining the 2025 Cardiff Half Marathon with Dogs Trust.
The aim of Dogs Trust is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. In 2023, they were able to successfully rehome over 10,000 dogs and cared for a total of 13,375 dogs (including over 300 Underdogs who had been with Dogs Trust for more than 6 months). With your help, Dogs Trust can continue helping more dogs as the need for their services increases with the current cost of living crisis.
The work of Dogs Trust is only possible with support like yours, if you’re able to make a small contribution, I know they’d be extremely grateful – and so would the dogs!
Thank you.

Running for Paws: My Half Marathon Journey for Dogs Trust 🐾🏃♀️
Hi everyone! I’m Beth, and this year, I’m lacing up my trainers not just for the challenge of a half marathon—but to raise vital funds for a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart: Dogs Trust.
As someone who has always believed dogs bring out the best in us—unconditional love, loyalty, and joy—I couldn’t think of a better reason to hit the pavement. Every step I take in training is for the thousands of dogs across the UK who are waiting for their forever homes, safe in the care of Dogs Trust while they wait.
Why I’m Running
Dogs Trust doesn’t just provide food and shelter for dogs in need—they provide love, safety, and a second chance. I’ve seen firsthand the impact this amazing charity has on both dogs and the people who adopt them. Their work goes beyond rehoming; it includes behavioural support, education, and long-term care for dogs who can’t be rehomed due to health or temperament challenges.
So when the opportunity came up to run a half marathon and make a difference, I thought—why not combine my love for running with my love for dogs?
The Training Journey
Training hasn’t always been easy—some days I’m up early in the rain, some days my legs feel like lead—but I always think about the dogs I’m running for. Whether it’s a nervous pup who finally learns to trust again, or a senior dog getting the retirement they deserve, they keep me going.
How You Can Help
If you’d like to support my half marathon effort and help Dogs Trust continue their life-changing work, please consider donating via my fundraising page.
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a huge difference. Just £10 can help provide toys and enrichment for a dog in care, while larger donations contribute to medical treatment, food, and safe shelter.
Final Thoughts
Whether you’re a fellow runner, a dog lover, or someone who just wants to do good—you’re part of this journey too. Thank you for cheering me on and helping to change the lives of dogs in need. I’ll be thinking of you all as I cross that finish line!
With love (and a little dog hair),
Beth 🐶💛
