Running For Rex and Dogs Trust
Rex was my furry soulmate, my shadow, my wee dude, my doodlebug, my furry shoulder to cry on when times were tough. Losing him in September 2024 shattered all of our hearts and I need to undertake a huge challenge to try and create a positive out of something so sad.
Rex came from Dogs Trust Kenilworth. After being rehomed as a puppy, he found himself back with them aged 4 after family circumstances changed. You see, they offer lifetime backup if you can no longer keep your dog. Without Dogs Trust, we wouldn't have had the joy of having Rex or his sister Maisy in our lives and I want to raise funds to help support the amazing work they do.
I will be running, walking, climbing, crawling ..... whatever it takes to cover 100k (62 miles) in ONE DAY for the Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge on May 17th. That's over 2 marathons in one go (and yep, it's hilly)
Why? Because Rex was one in a million, he was the best boy and if I can help raise funds for Dogs Trust to continue their amazing work, it will be worth it.
The aim of Dogs Trust is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. In 2023, they were able to successfully rehome over 10,000 dogs and cared for a total of 13,375 dogs (including over 300 Underdogs who had been with Dogs Trust for more than 6 months). With your help, Dogs Trust can continue helping more dogs in 2024 as the need for their services increases with the current cost of living crisis.
The work of Dogs Trust is only possible with support like yours, if you’re able to make a small contribution, I know they’d be extremely grateful – and so would the dogs!
Thank you.
