I’m taking part in the 99k for Canines challenge with Dogs Trust!
I’m making a positive start to 2026 by joining the Dogs Trust 99k for Canines challenge! I will be walking 99km throughout the month of February to raise vital funds for the dogs in their care.
The aim of Dogs Trust is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners.
Last year, they cared for 11,707 dogs across the UK and Ireland, rehomed 9,914 dogs, and helped deliver nearly one million meals to dogs in need through Fareshare foodbanks.
Your support helps them continue this vital work, especially as the cost of living crisis adds increased pressures for dog owners. The work of Dogs Trust is only possible with donations like yours. If you’re able to make a small contribution, I know they’d be incredibly grateful – and so would the dogs!
Thank you.

Week 2! 🩷
Welcome to week 2 of the challenge! We've now gone well over 99km and currently sitting at 124km! Still 2 weeks to go, and with the weather seemingly starting to improve (even just by a little), the 400km target I've set for myself seems to be getting closer each day. :)
Day Four :)
Unfortunately the weather yesterday was miserable so didn't get very far, but made up for it today with a walk of around 9km. Met lots of dog walkers who were probably taking advantage of the dry spell, but the highlight of the walk was getting to see some super cute lambs!
Happy knowing that Spring is almost around the corner, and hopefully the weather holds up enough that I can get this challenge completed. Let's see how much further we get tomorrow!
Day One :)
Northern Ireland has been smacked right in the face with Storm Chandra, which means a lot of our usual routes for walking are currently unusable & unsafe as they are right beside the river. However, it meant we got to explore some new spots to wander round and burn off all of Blitz's pent up energy from this week! We clocked around 8km today, and he was a very tired boy after.
He also got loads of compliments and fuss from people passing by which he absolutely loved! Unfortunately the 'stigma' around Shepherds and large dogs in general is still very much a thing, but hopefully these walks will help people see that most dogs are just big softies with lots of love to give.
Let's see how far we get tomorrow! <3
