Every Step for a Second Chance: Dogs Trust 99k, February 2026

If you know me, you know this already: my entire life revolves around dogs.

My heart belongs to all dogs, but especially to the ones who are misunderstood — the rescue dogs, the anxious ones, the reactive ones, the dogs with poor socialisation, the ones who are labelled as “difficult” or “too much.” To me, they are not problems to be solved; they are souls deserving patience, understanding, and a second chance at life. If I could rehome every dog in need, I would do it in a heartbeat.

That is why, in February 2026, I’m taking part in the Dogs Trust 99k Walk.

My love for dogs goes beyond companionship — it’s a deep belief that every dog deserves kindness, safety, and advocacy. I have a particular soft spot for Staffordshire Bull Terriers and other bully breeds, dogs who are so often judged before they’re known. Loyal, loving, sensitive, and misunderstood — they mirror exactly why rescue work matters so much.

Walking has always been one of my greatest joys, but it has taken on a whole new meaning with my dog Alfie. Alfie is a reactive Staffy, and we’re currently working hard on training him to walk past other dogs without reacting. It’s not always easy, but every calm step forward feels like a victory. Our walks are the best part of my day — and his too. They represent trust, progress, and the power of patience.

By walking 99 kilometres, I’m walking for Alfie.
I’m walking for every dog still waiting in kennels.
I’m walking for the ones who need time, understanding, and someone to believe in them.

Dogs Trust does truly incredible work — the kind of work that saves lives, restores hope, and gives dogs the futures they deserve. To me, what they do is nothing short of the work of angels.

Every step I take in February will be fuelled by love for dogs like Alfie, and by hope for those still waiting for their chance. This challenge is my way of giving back to a cause that means everything to me — because dogs have given me everything in return.

Thank you for supporting, sharing, and cheering me on.
This walk is for them 🐾💛
