We are helping raise money for dogs in need by fundraising on behalf of Dogs Trust
We are walking Hadrian's Wall to help raise money for dogs in need by fundraising on behalf of Dogs Trust.
Like nearly everyone, we are prone to a bit of a passion for Roman Britain, and can't wait to enjoy the history along the way. We start on 7th September and have planned a slow walk to really get to enjoy the wall and the history. We will be sharing our adventures here.
The aim of Dogs Trust is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. Last year, they cared for 11,707 dogs across the UK and Ireland, rehomed 9,914 dogs, and helped deliver nearly one million meals to dogs in need through Fareshare foodbanks.
Your support helps them continue this vital work, especially as the cost of living crisis adds increased pressures for dog owners.
The work of Dogs Trust is only possible with donations like yours. If you’re able to make a small contribution, we know they’d be incredibly grateful – and so would the dogs!
Thank you.

Narrowly avoiding surgery clash dates
One of the team had been awaiting an important operation date for ages, and as the date for the Hadrian's Wall walk grew closer, she feared that her surgery date would be offered at that exact time. Of course, in August, she had a call inviting her to surgery on Sept 11th, when she would be in the middle of the walk! Thankfully, they agreed to reschedule to Sept 30th, with two week's recovery at least, meaning some petsits have sadly had to be cancelled. But it is a vital op. So she will be hiking the trail just ahead of going under the knife! We are sure knowing that she has this fearsome date coming up will make the walk even more magical, and hopefully, spending surgery recovery enjoying memories of this wonderful walk will make the inevitable slightly-miserable weeks ahead a little easier.
Wow! We've raised £814 so far!
We are so proud at the Pet Au Pairs to have raised £814 so far for The Dogs Trust. 🐕 👣🐾👣🐾👣🐾 We are walking Hadrian's Wall from 7th September and would love to smash our £900 target. If you know anyone who might like to support these smiley petsitters as they take a break from dog walking and walk along this historic part of Roman Britain, do share our link!Thank you to my Sponsors
