99k for Canines Challenge – Terms & Conditions

Thank you for taking part in 99k for Canines Challenge with Dogs Trust. These Terms & Conditions apply to all volunteer fundraisers and by completing our registration form you are agreeing to comply with them.

The Event

1. You agree that you are physically capable of taking part in the event and agree to be solely responsible for your actions. Dogs Trust is not responsible for any injury or illness that you may suffer as a result of your participation in the event. 
2. You acknowledge that any fundraising activities you organise are as an independent supporter of Dogs Trust. It’s your responsibility to refer to raising money “in aid of” Dogs Trust (rather than ‘on behalf of’). 

3. If you are creating any branded materials using the Dogs Trust logo, you must seek approval from the Dogs Trust Community Fundraising Team. Please email 99kforCanines@dogstrust.org.uk. 

4. Any cheques relating to your fundraising are made payable to Dogs Trust and sent to the Dogs Trust Community Fundraising with the event name, your full name and address. 

5. You agree to encourage donors and/or sponsors to make gift aid declarations where eligible, which may enable us to recover basic rate tax on such donations. 

Personal Data & Consent 

6. By providing your personal information when you sign up to fundraise for Dogs Trust, you understand that Dogs Trust will contact you via phone, email and any other legitimate means in order to communicate relevant event information throughout, in the lead up to and post your participation in this event. 

7. Your personal information may also be used for the purposes of sending communications to you where you have confirmed that you would like to receive further information about the charity’s work when signing up to fundraise for Dogs Trust. 

8. All personal data held by us will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws. 

Consent 

9. By registering to fundraise in aid of Dogs Trust, you consent to Dogs Trust using photos, videos and quotes of you from your challenge for any legitimate and promotional materials. Please contact us in advance of your activity if you are unhappy with this by emailing 99kforCanines@dogstrust.org.uk.  

Liability 

10. You acknowledge that you are fully responsible for your participation in the event and Dogs Trust does not accept responsibility or liability for any loss or damage arising from the event. 

11. You accept that any risks arising out of your fundraising activities are your responsibility, including liability for any injury or loss which may occur to you, your helpers or guests. You will therefore take all reasonable precautions to protect the health and safety of all those participating in, involved with or attending your activity. 

12. You acknowledge and accept that Dogs Trust’s insurance policy will not cover your fundraising activities
